We’re excited to announce the Buckeyes Thrive Donation Drive 2024-2025. This donation drive will support the Buckeye Food Alliance, an organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity in our Buckeye community. Please consider helping us make a difference by contributing items in need.

Now through Tuesday, January 7, 2025, team members are asked to collect donations from their departments/units, culminating in a special donation drop-off and celebration at The Longaberger Alumni Housefrom 3-5 p.m. on January 7th. 

Let’s come together to make an impact on our Buckeye community and celebrate the spirit of giving!

What is the purpose of the event?

Collect as many items as possible, then celebrate teamwork!

Who can be involved?

All Buckeyes can participate! We are asking all faculty and staff at the university, medical center, extension offices and regional campuses to participate.

How can I get involved?

Spread the word, help formulate the plan for your department, set up collection location​.

What items should I obtain?

  • Various spices
  • Rice
  • Oil 
  • Dried beans
  • All canned goods – veggies, fruit, or soups, broths, stocks in particular (cartons or broth or stocks)
  • Pastas
  • Shampoo
  • Canned meats - tuna, chicken, etc.
  • Other grains - lentils, couscous
  • Foods to account for dietary restrictions – gluten free, vegan options, ethnic foods
  • More drink options
  • Microwave meals, ready-to-eat meals
  • Protein shakes, anything with protein in general
  • Snack foods – pretzels, goldfish, etc.  

Who/where are the items going towards?

All items will be sent to the Buckeye Food Alliance. This is a non-profit organization on campus that is dedicated to addressing food insecurities for our faculty, staff and students.

I've collected items from my colleagues, where do I turn them in?

There will be an event at the Longaberger Alumni House from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025. More details to come. 

If I cannot come to the January 7 event, when and where can I donate the items?

Email buckeyewellness@osu.edu to set up a specific date, time, and location.
