Regarding your department or unit's wellness efforts, which of the nine dimensions of wellness has your team addressed?

  • Physical
  • Emotional

  • Social

Describe one or two successful activities that your team planned around the nine dimensions of wellness.

I have promoted University wellness initiatives to colleagues in OSU Extension, and have helped plan & present some of the University Wellness Stay Calm and Well webinar series. I have also promoted and taught Mindful Wellness webinar series to the public served by OSU Extension Family and Consumer Science professionals.

Additionally, I encourage employees to infuse physical activity in their workday routine by taking screen breaks, having walking meetings, and walking breaks.

If you have kept track of participation rates for your activities, what are your approximate averages?

I partook in the Stay Calm and Well webinar series that had 808 and 450 attendees when I spoke. Public-facing virtual series have averaged between 40-90 participants.

If you could accomplish anything as a Buckeye Wellness Innovator, what would your dream be?

To help change the culture of county OSU offices (part of our statewide campus) to be health-minded and supported.

What has your lead administrator/dean/vice president/department chair specifically done to show support for your role as a Buckeye wellness Innovator?

They have allowed time to participate in training & promoting activities.

Please share how your team has overcome barriers to engaging your colleagues and/or students in your wellness efforts.

They have highlighted our team's efforts in teaching about mindfulness/mental health.

Please share how you have overcome barriers to engaging your colleagues and/or students.
As a supervisor, I have not only given permission, I have encouraged employees to take screen breaks, and participate in wellness activities.
